Do I need to bring anything to an Executive Physical?

The only items you need to bring are your driver’s license and insurance card.

Will I be required to complete any paperwork in order to participate in an Executive Physical?

Upon checking in, the front desk will provide you with registration forms that you will need to complete.  The forms include a consent form, insurance information, and your general medical history.  These forms are also available in the forms section and can be filled out prior to the physical.

How long will the Executive Physical take?

The entire process from check-in to check-out will take approximately 60-90 minutes and varies based on the amount of ultrasound exams ordered by the physician.

Do I have to make a payment to participate in an Executive Physical?

The executive physical requires no out of pocket expense from the patient. The service is covered by your health insurance, and because it is a preventative medical service, you will not be required to make a copayment.

How long will it take to get my results and how do I obtain them?

You will receive your results within 5 business days from the date of your exam and they will be accessible via our online wellness portal. You will receive a welcome email after your exam and once you complete the registration process and health risk assessment, you will be able to view all of your results.

What is a health risk assessment?

A health risk assessment is a comprehensive health intake/questionnaire that helps to determine high risk patients due to lifestyle choices and family history. You will be prompted to complete a health risk assessment upon registering for the online wellness portal. The combined results from the health risk assessment and Executive Physical will provide you with a thorough assessment of your overall health and wellness.

Will the results of my Executive Physical be shared with anyone other than me?

AccuHealth Group strictly adheres to all HIPAA regulations and ensures that all of your health information obtained from the Executive Physical will be safeguarded and made accessible to you only. Under no circumstances will your health results be shared with your employer or any third party. The only exception will be an official request for medical records from your primary care physician or any other healthcare provider you visit and it will be contingent upon your consent.

What happens if there are any health issues that are detected from the Executive Physical?

If one of our physicians detects an immediate health issue at the Executive Physical he or she will request a stat for your results. The physician who saw you on the day of your exam will then contact you within 24-48 hours to go over the results and suggest whatever follow up examinations or treatment that may be necessary.

How often should I participate in the Executive Physical?

It is recommended that you participate in the Executive Physical program annually even if your results don’t show any immediate health risks. Staying proactive with your health will ensure that you remain healthy and will help to detect the manifestation of a potential health condition at a time when it is more easily treatable.

What is ultrasound imaging?

Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive medical test that produces pictures of internal body structures that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Will I feel any pain or discomfort during any of the ultrasound exams?

No. It is a safe and painless technique that involves the use of a small transducer (probe) and ultrasound gel placed directly on the skin.

What do I need to do to prepare for an ultrasound exam?

See executive physical preparation above.

How long does an ultrasound exam take to complete?

It varies based on the exam and usually takes approximately 10-20 minutes.

How is the procedure performed?

For most ultrasound exams, you will be positioned lying face up on an examination table that can be tilted or moved. After you are positioned on the examination table, the sonographer will apply a water-based gel to the area of the body being studied. The gel will help the transducer make secure contact with the body and eliminate air pockets between the transducer and the skin that can block the sound waves from passing into your body. The transducer is placed on the body and moved back and forth over the area of interest until the desired images are captured. Doppler sonography is performed using the same transducer.

Who interprets the results and how do I obtain them?

Our board certified cardiologist and radiologist, physicians specifically trained to supervise and interpret radiology examinations, will analyze the images and a signed report will be saved into your online wellness portal.
